BOARD OF DIRECTORS
István KENYERES - CEO, Member of the Board
István Kenyeres has three decades of professional and leadership experience in environmental protection, biotechnology and industrial ecology ranging from research and development to large-scale industrial implementations.
As leading expert of the Hungarian environmental market and with his 15 years of lecturer and research scientist background at the Budapest Technical University, today, István is a frequent presenter in business and academic forums. He is an inventor with several patents ranging from biotechnology to fluid dynamics.
As co-founder and strategic leader of ORGANICA, István played a determining role in the formation of the environmental industry in Hungary. His contribution was acknowledged by the president of the Republic with the Silver Merit Cross of the Republic of Hungary in 2005.
Attila BODNÁR - Executive Vice President, Member of the Board
An architect by training, Attila has devoted the last ten years of his carrier to wastewater treatment.
As a co-founder of Organica, he has been responsible mainly for strategic issues, business development and international expansion.
Prior to establishing Organica, Attila had a successful architectural practice in the US. He also formed a technology start-up company, which after four years of development was sold to a Fortune 500 company.
Jonathan LANCIANI - Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Board
Mr. Lanciani has more than 20 years of experience within the North American water industry, with a focus on customer oriented direct sales and service. Most recently he was the Senior Director of Strategic Planning, Business Development and Marketing at ChemTreat, a $250 million water treatment company owned by Danaher Corporation. Prior to ChemTreat, Mr. Lanciani spent nine years as a Sales Executive with GE Betz, where he delivered significant sales growth and helped drive 700 bps of margin improvement. Throughout his two decades in the water industry, he has gained extensive experience in developing and executing water conservation and recycling strategies with hundreds of diverse clients, including Toyota, General Motors, Owens Illinois, Cascade Paper, International Paper, Kraft Foods, Frito Lay, Waste Management, Covanta, Cushman, CBRE, Shorenstein, Rudin, Macklowe, Dartmouth, MIT, Harvard, Duke, University of Florida, Stanford, and Arizona State. Mr. Lanciani received his Bachelor’s of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Ákos BERZI - Chief Financial Officer, Member of the Board
As CFO of Organica, Ákos is responsible for the development and implementation of the company's financial strategy. Having majored in Business Administration, Ákos graduated from the Budapest University of Economics in 1997, and received a Masters degree in Economics.
Ákos has a broad consulting and investment analysis experience, with a special emphasis on structured finance and mergers & acquisitions. Before joining Organica in 2002, he spent 5 years at a German investment consultancy company, and participated in numerous advisory projects in Central-Eastern-Europe, covering different sectors. He gathered specialized experience in the water utility sector.
Ákos is married with 3 daughters, 2 of which are twins. He plays the tenor saxophone in the Youth Wind Band of Biatorbágy, and is a passionate photographer.
Ari RAIVETZ - Chairman of the Board
Ari is the Chairman of the Board of Organica, and is an investment professional with New York based RNK Capital, a leading environmental investment firm. He has ten years of experience in finance, corporate strategy, and public and private equity investing. Prior to RNK, Ari spent three years at Bank of America Securities, most recently as Vice President and Senior Research Analyst, covering Energy and Industrial companies. Previously he spent four years working at various strategy, finance, and marketing roles at two venture-backed enterprise software companies. Ari earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and received his BBA in Finance from The George Washington University.
Ari lives in New York City and is married with one-year-old twin daughters.
Michael SHAW - Member of the Board
Michael Shaw’s field is ecological engineering and design for sustainability. He is an engineer by training and has been involved in all phases of the development and implementation of natural wastewater treatment systems with Ocean Arks International in the USA between 1989 and 2003. Together with John Todd he is the author of two wastewater treatment patents. Michael is a Partner in the Ecovillage Institute and Chairman of the Trustees of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland.
Nikolaus SPIECKERMANN - Senior Investment Advisor
Nikolaus is a Director of Organica and a Partner with CEE technology investment firm Gamma Capital Partners. He has over ten years of experience in finance, consulting and venture capital investing. Prior to GCP, he worked for a Vienna-based VC firm and spent several years with a London-based strategy consultancy, where he participated in over 30 transactions in the UK and across the continent.
Nikolaus is married with one daughter. He is a keen telemark skier and is actively involved in primary-healthcare projects in West Africa, managed by Vienna/Ouagadougou-based NGO laafi, which he co-founded in 1994.

ENGINEERING AND CONTRACTING SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Akhil BARAR - Director – Engineering & Contracting
A Chemical Engineer by profession, Akhil Barar has spent over eight years in the field of Water Treatment. He has worked with various multinationals in regions covering the United Kingdom, Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. Over the years he has been involved in Process Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Commissioning and Business Development in the field of Wastewater Treatment and Water Desalination.
At Organica, Akhil is responsible for Managing the Design, Engineering, Execution and Tendering of projects. He also supports Business Development in key markets based on his experience in the industry.
Akhil is a keen Golfer, follows Formula 1 and takes interest in world economics.
TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Róbert KOVÁCS - Director - Technology
As a bioengineer, Róbert has been engaged in research and development since the very beginning of his career. Mathematical modeling of wastewater and sludge treatment processes has always been in the focus of his work. With considerable experience in conducting lab-scale and pilot experiments, today he is coordinating the technology development projects of Organica.
FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT
Krisztina DEÁK - Accounting and Controlling Manager
Krisztina is responsible for the HAS and IFRS reporting, controlling, and the budgeting of the company. She joined Organica in 2009, and previously gained valuable experience in the fields of controlling and management in a multinational environment.
She graduated as an economist in 2002, but she is always open for widening her knowledge, continuing to study in her fields, economics and finance at ACCA.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT
Marcin HASZNOS - Director - Business Administration
Marcin established his career at large multinational business process outsourcing companies where he managed complex IT process transitions in Hungary, Poland, Romania and the US. Within Organica, Marcin began as head of the Knowledge Management department, responsible for structuring information and refining processes in many facets of the company before rising into his current position. His main role at Organica is to keep the organization energized and goal-oriented on a day-to-day basis. In addition he is involved with the essential task of maintaining the quality of the entire team through coaching, active dialogue with the staff, and problem-solving of organizational issues.
CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Péter BAKONYI - Director of Corporate Affairs
Economist by profession, Peter started his career at Organica in 2005 by becoming Secretary of the Board of Directors, assisting the everyday decision making of the executives. Soon he took over the management of the business administration processes of the company.
Today, his department is responsible for corporate procedures, legal matters, intellectual property management, corporate communication and PR matters. These of course do not hinder Peter from gratifying his passion for music by singing in a band.
TENDERING, INVESTMENTS AND PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT
Márta MAJOR - Director - Tendering, Investments and Procurement
Offering customized financial services, the Tendering, Investments, and Procurement Department can deliver a key driver for project opportunities. Márta's main focus is on the contracting and execution of such project financing and investment deals on the domestic and international water market. Besides being a project management expert, she has years of experience in the field of public procurement and EU and state grants. She is a mother of 2 children and lives near Szeged, Hungary.
