Organica is currently looking to fill an Associate – Finance position, reporting to the Financial Manager – Project Business.

 

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation, implementation, enforcement and maintenance of FP&A policies and procedures
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts including, but not limited to, income statement, balance sheet, cash-flow, cost center spending, financial metrics, analysis, project revenue and cost projects
  • Assist with the preparation of the bi-weekly cash-flow forecast
  • Assist with the preparation of the 12-month rolling forecast and any other longer term/multi-year forecasts and assisting with unnamed projects and OPEX as needed
  • Assist with the preparation of all relevant financial and management reporting, including, but not limited to, variance analysis vs. budget, related to:
    • Project revenue, cost of sales and estimated cost to complete
    • Non-Project revenue and cost of sales
    • OPEX
    • Cash-flow
    • Others as needed
  • Assist with month-end activities, including but not limited to:
    • Verifying project working budgets match approved projects budgets and correct where necessary
    • Recognizing monthly project revenue
    • Recognizing monthly project cost of sales
    • Prepare monthly project cash-flows
    • Verify that the revenue and cost of sales in sub-ledgers agree with revenue and cost of sales in the income statement
  • Assist with the preparation of financial commentary related to projects and OPEX
  • Build up strong relationships with Project Managers, Supply Chain, and other relevant departments of the company
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures for efficient control and utilization of financial resources
  • Assist with Project & OPEX Control:

Project

    • Ensure all expenditures are in the budget and properly approved
    • Ensure all non-budgeted expenditures are not recorded without proper approval
    • Verify that all project working budgets and estimated cost to complete are updated by the project manager and approved by the appropriate manager(s) in accordance with company policies and procedures
    • Provide detailed revenue and cost analysis (actual to date and estimated to complete) to project managers, challenge their spending assumptions and work with them to identify cost savings or opportunities to generate additional revenue particularly when project unfavorable to budget

OPEX

    • Ensure all expenditures are in the budget and properly approved
    • Ensure all non-budgeted expenditures are not recorded without proper approval
    • Provide detailed cost analysis (actual month and year to date) to cost center managers, challenge their spending assumptions and work with them to identify cost savings particularly when spending unfavorable to budget
  • Support the accounting team, as needed, especially bank reconciliation
    • Reconciliation of project reporting files with project-related P&L and BS balances in the ERP system
    • Regular reporting of payments of project-related invoices to project managers and supply chain colleagues
    • Monthly reconciliation between accrued and invoiced project expenses and do the necessary accruals/reversals of accruals
    • Perform certain controls during the monthly closing of the accounts
    • Other regular accounting tasks, if necessary
  • Assist supervisor with other activities as required

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Good Command of English
  • Minimum 1-year experience in similar role
  • Good skills at Excel and database program, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Percentage of Completion Accounting is an advantage
